People often ask that what is active voice and passive voice are different ways of constructing sentences. In active voice, the act is done by the subject, while in passive voice, the subject receives the action. For example, “He ate the cake” is in active voice, while “The cake was eaten by him” is in passive voice. The identification of passive voice is often signalled by the use of “to be” verbs and the past participle form of the main verb. To convert a passive sentence to an active one, the subject should act.
